As many of you know who drive the Highways & Byways of the U.S. there seems to be an ever growing number of casinos along our roadways, and like Las Vegas with its lights and glitz, these roadside gambling meccas are built to draw the traveler in with their offers of lodging, choices of dining, and of course gaming. But, not all casinos provide the same amenities. Some of the smaller venues might only offer a limited number slot machines and drinks, other sites might also have gaming tables and dining, while the larger more established casinos might offer lodging, including RV sites, swimming pools, spas, and entertainment for the kids. These larger casinos might have hundreds if not thousands of slot machines together with gaming tables, and more than likely offer several choices of dining from causal to formal to buffet.
Of course, looking at the picture above, many of you recongnize all the “Player” cards and what they represent. Yes, we’ve stopped at, played at, ate at, and stayed at a lot of casinos over the years and the course of our road trips. Now, for those of you who don’t know what a “Players” card is….It’s a unque card a casino wants to give every person who walks through their doors. Of course, the use of the card tracks what you do in their casino, but it also offers the “Player”, or card user, free casino play along with dicounts on dining and lodging. Keeping that in mind, the information you give the casinos, they will be more than likely sending you monthly offers (carrots dangling in front of you) via e-mail or snail-mail to get you to come visit them again.
There are lots of casinos along the Highways & Byways to visit if you choose. We’ve chose not to rated any of these establishments we’ve visited and listed here. Both Becky and I find each casinos, big or little, has it own “flair” and we’ve enjoyed visiting all of them. All the casinos we’ve visited are under the tab The Gambling Establishments. I’ve tried to include a map showing their location along with a website address. Of course you can Google any of these casinos and get all the information you need and I’m guessing you’ll find they’re offering all kinds of incentives to get you to stop by. If you don’t see a casino you’ve visited on our list and would like to have it included drop us an e-mail @ rdtripjournal@outlook.com I’ll get it put on the list. Win lots and Enjoy the Journey.
